I have lots of Garmin stuff on my boats, irplanes and cars. Almost always able to talk directly with a tech and have found them very helpful as well as personable. I recently installed both a 3010 and a 3006 on my big boat with the network, sounder, Wx Worx weather, and XM radio. Works great and no complaints. Talked with techs several times to resolve a couple of installation questions, but got the answers and everything works great. Wx Worx weather is the greatest thing going. For weather it is much better than on board radar both for the boat and the plane. Their onboard radar was not available as of a month ago, but from what I can tell talking to the techs, it will be an enclosed array with low wattage and will be suitable for small boats or as a backup. I paln to buy one for my big boat and initially evaluate it as a backup, but may find it works fine as primary. Both of my radars are on their last leg and will have to be replaced in the next year. As you can tell, I love Garmin stuff. However, the new Furuno Navnet is just as good if not better in the radar department since you can network some of their lager radars. I bought the Garmin just because of the Wx Worx weather that I had used on my plane. Hope all this helps.
