Tank Cleaning?

So its been months since I've had a few minutes to think about boating again. It was a hell of a season never really got the boat running right, rebuilt a four heads on my 440's, new carbs and installed rebuilt risers. Still bent pushrods before ever getting the boat on plane.

Anyway, on the last run of the season I opted to run engines from two portable outbourd gas tanks and low and behold she popped right up on plane. Guess it is the gas.
I remember reading somthing about alcohol in the northeast disolving years of tank crud and a 31 bert fom 62 may have lots of crud. Any ideas on how to clean the tank? Do you remove and send out to clean, if so how does the tank come out. What do you do with 100+ gallons of tainted gas?
