If you take the word of a Cummins salesperson over Patrick's, you're making a decision you'll be sorry about later. Even if the boat could take 35+kts, usually your passengers can't. Backed out screws, shattered windows, broken outriggers and antennas are just some of the things most of us have had happen running in the 20+kt range hitting that surprise wave. These engines live their lives best running 200 rpm off the top. The flip side is, with matching props, you'll need trolling valves to get into your marina without a wake. Without them, on one engine I'll bet you'll troll at 7-8 kts. Walter
