We had Tom DeMann do our repower and his was great to work with on pretty much everything. His rationale makes sense but it's just too much HP for these boats. We have 300hp 6BTAs that turn up 3000wot and 31.8knts. At hi cruise of 2600 it's 26.5knts. I'd love to be able to get a few more knots but even I know that 380's would be crazy. If the hull and design could handle it without too many mods then that's another thing but with having to change shaft angles and adding prop pockets it's just too much going on. The 300's are plenty. 330's might be about the most you can go on a stock setup. Gotta remember these boats are light too, the new 32 Topaz is advertised at 22K. When we're loaded for the season I'd bet we around 16K at most. 380's would be way overkill.

If you go with the 380's I want a ride!
