I'm having a similar problem with a 31 FBC.
I bought a 6 man Viking in a cannister at the show last year.
I put it on the port engine box to off set the generator on the starboard side.
All I've heard from the crew is whining about its location.
I'll probably move it to the bow or frony of the bridge this spring.
All I'd say to you is be careful as to where you put make sure the location will allow proper deployment.
