I always use the 3M steel wool substitute. Coarse then fine because of that very reason of endless rust and even more headaches in some instances. I just can't get out of this "School of Hard Knox". But boy the retention factor is good.
Vic I got ambitious too and shined my bridge Isenglass up. Used some 3M plastic restorer then Rejexed it . Shines like crazy now and almost like new. Wish I knew about Strata Glass when I had that put in 4 years ago though.Test ran the Can Do It and seems fine now. No leaks in starboard cooling system and no more viberation in the port drive system. An extremely very small amount is noticed after I'm running at 2500 RPM but that is probably normal. No more shaking felt at helm. My coupling came in at .0015 at one 90 degree point, other wise .ooo. Adjusted coller compression to same specs as starboard(known good side).Ready to fish one more time before we tear the cockpit and engine boxes off. Dave K
