Mine, like Mike's was a chain and steering box original. What was put in on my Sportsfisherman was a model K-19 Hydnautic aluminum cylinder rated as having a working pressure of 950 psi with cylinder output force is 975 pounds. Given that the Sportsfisherman has two steering units, I would think that its a proper size, even if you chose to put on a tower. Hydnautic was bought by Teleflex in Canada. They have proven themselves to me to be idiots who are yet to return a call. Charman Enterprises in Indiana have been a Godsend in all things Hydnautic for many of us..Call 1-800-247-6324 or 1-800-814-7070 if you're down south. Great service, great prices for parts and repairs, and no baloney. I would also recommend the use of the red non-foaming Hydraulic fluid over the clear Teleflex stuff. If you ever have a leak, you'll know where it comes from. It's airplane hydraulic fluid and a gallon costs what a quart of the Teleflex stuff does. Walter
