In Response To: Steering Question (Rumrunner)

First check your fluid level and pressure. The fluid level should be midway up on the higher "window". Pressure should be anywhwere from 20-30 psi. if both of those are ok, perhaps you should purge the system of any air that might have gotten into it. Any loss of fluid should be searched for. Hydnautic fluid is airplane non-bubbling hydraulic fluid that is bright red and easy to see in your bilge. Check your ram. See that nothing is obstructing its smooth movement.
The system is a simple one and should be easy to repair if something is not wrong.

Any questions or repairs-avoid Hydnautic/Teleflex (the new owners) they'll never get back to you. Call Charman Enterprises-1-800-247-6324. They're in Ohio and are great! Lost my steering on the weekend, called on Monday, sent my ram back, had it rebuilt and in my hands by Friday-used the boat on Saturday-Walter
