Steering Question

I have a question for the experts. My new Bertram 38 has Hynautic Steering and it feels tight and stiff to steer. I am thinking of changing the steering to a new system from Sea Star. Sea Star and Hynautics are the same company. The Sea Star on my 31 is great. The steering on the 38 is over 20 years old. I checked the steering on a 46 Bertram that has Hynautics and it felt the same as the 38. My 42 Bertram was also like the 38, so I assume that it is the way Hynautics works.

Any comments would be great
