Soda Blasting, Again

Still debating whether to get the hull blasted this year or not. I really just want to remove the build up of bottom paint. I dont see any blisters or problems of that nature. If I soda blast, do I have to barrier coat? Am I looking for trouble in doing this? Can this be done just to remove the bottom paint without damaging the gelcoat? Any advice from the experts on this one would be appreciated.
