Cummins with ZF trans sticking

I have 330 Cummins with ZF gears. It seems lately whenever I run the boat for awhile, the port gear will stick in forward. If I pull hard, I can get it in neutral, but, its definately harder then it should be. At idle, or, sitting at the dock, etc, it works smooth. Other then it being hard to get out of forward, it works fine. The oil looks good with no smell. Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm ready to pull the damn thing out and take it apart.
