Boat Yard Follies

I went to Whiticar boat yard in Stuart today to do some work for them.
I hadn't been there in a while and forgot exactly where it was.

I called them and got the main receptionist.
I asked her if they were off Old Dixie by the airport. She said she didn't know.

I said ok. How do you get to your place from Salerno rd. Again she didn't know.

I asked her if she had any problem getting to work today. She said no.

I asked her how she got to work today. She said by car.

I asked her what roads she used. She didn't know, she was new to the area.

I then asked her if she was really at work.

She passed me over to a guy who gave me wrong directions.
I finally found the place.

Walking down the yard, the guy who called me saw my shirt and came over to take me to the boat.

He asked how things were going. I said strange.
It seems no one here knows how to get here and I'm trying to figure out how they got here.

After fixing the problem boat, I went into the office to bill them and encountered more of the same thinking.

If it weren't for the check I have with their name on it, I'd swear I wasn't there at all today.

Then I went over to American Marine to do some work for them. While working on the boat, the service guy asked if I could give them an estimate for installing some electronics on a new 58 Katy Krogen. He took me over to the boat to see the owner which wasn't there.

I said I would stop back by after I got done with the first boat. After packing up, I went by the Krogen and the owners were there.
I told them who I was and what I was there for.
He said oh you already installed those electronics last week and thanks for the good job.

Huh?

I wasn't on your boat last week. He said yes you were, the job is already done.

I gave him my card and told him I was glad he liked my work and to give me a call next time he needed something.

Never was on his boat at all, never saw the guy before.

Stay tuned for my reality show "The Boat Yard"

Hopefully I'll wake up and it will still be Thursday.
