Bill,

According to Lee Dana, the head engineer at Bertram Yacht when your boat was built, the first fiberglass Bertram 31 was hull # 31-101. That would make yours the ninth hull produced (110-101 = 9). Whether it's the 9th or 10th, either way you have an early classic. The 31s came from the factory with a polished gelcoat, not paint. Light blue was one of the early gelcoat colors that Bertram used. Congratulations on getting to the bottom of the mystery, and for being the steward of the earliest Bertram 31 hull that I've seen referenced on this Discussion Board.
