Yep, Parrot Fish are coral crunchers, they are one of the main producers of that fine white sand you see on tropical beachs. They don't actually digest the lime or calcium in the coral, they are nipping pieces of coral off with their beaks and then crunching it in their molars to get to the live animal inside the coral excretion. For those very reasons they are difficult to catch on a hook, thier beaks tend to cut through line or hooks if you are able to get them to eat some very small baits. Most Parrot Fish are caught by speargun and they are very good eating, specialy with a little white rice and Finadene (reading this Roland, that's a Guam special)
