What is the width like on the little yanmars?
I don't think the weight would kill you. The weight os a V8 package is roughly the same. Yes she would sit a bit lower, but some say that that chine should be in the water anyway.
The scupper discussion is a good one though. If you are going to have to do any work on the transom, I'd fill in those holes. Any time I leave mine in the water, I always plug the holes because waves slapping on the back will let in H2O. Plug the holes and get invest in some bilge pumps and battery capacity.
I would go for the 240 hp since weight is not different, who says you need to use it all the time anyhow?
My uncle had a B20 moppie with a mercruiser 350 MAG 300 ponies infront of that outdrive. He couldn't use it all the time, but when it was calm... ... look out.
