If you make it to a rendezvous, I'll teach you how to splice braided line. Three strand is a breeze. It takes one minute to learn, and one hour to master.
Nylon rope is best if used alone. It has a lot of stretch, which is good for your hardware. Unfortunately, once it's stretched out it's crap. Depending on usage, nylon might have to be replaced yearly. If you're at a dock with a good tide and widely spaced piles, you'll have to make occasional adjustments to compensate for stretch.
Polyester rope is great, but needs to be used with rubber snubers. It's stronger and more wear resistant than nylon, but lacks the stretch that keeps your cleats from being ripped out. The snubers last a year or two, but the line lasts nearly forever.
You need 20 footers (you have a 26, right?) for the stern and spring lines, and 15 footers for the bow. When in doubt, get longer....
