I would just like to maybe better express myself.
I didnt change out my fiberglass tank for aluminum because i wanted to. I had to,,inside of the 2 chambers i could see, were all flaked gelcoat
like the paint on your house flaking off,.,,probably as a result of the 2 bronze plates that were off of the tank (Fill/Pickup) fresh water must of got in there .,.,.,it was exposed to the weather a long time.,.,.,ultimately when i smashed and sawsall'ed it.,.,.,.,all the chambers were a mess
it "had" to go............
As Far as the shelf life of an aluminum tank in a hull.,.,.,.well I just think the way it is installed has a lot to do with the longevity.,.,
To remove a perfectly functioning fuel tank is not something I would do,.,.It's to damn hard
