Door frame to cabin measurements

I was wondering if I could get some help from the Faithful on my current dilemma. I'm getting close to putting in my old engines which tested out fine. We've also completed the substructure for the decks, new rudder shelves thru-hulls etc... and am about ready to put in the decks and engine boxes (ordered through Bertram). I've taken measurements and the engine boxes will actually protrude about an inch (on each side)inside the door frame. Not sure exactly how to approach this but it seems like the best way may be to narrow the door frame. I'm wondering if my door frame is a bit wider than that of most stock B31's. Can someone measure the width of the door frame going to the cabin the next time they visit their boat? I can then confirm that my door is a bit too wide as opposed to my engine boxes. Cutting down the width of the wings on the outside of those boxes seems like a major job that I don't wish to tackle. My boat is a 1963 Sportfish FB with a cabin bulkhead. I'm sure the bulkhead was done by Bertram but it may be a different configuration than the stock FB Cruiser cabin bulkhead. Thanks in advance for your help and any advice.
