Mounting Pedastal Chairs on Bridge

I have been thinking about replacing the standard issue Bertram Bench seat on my Bridge with maybe two nice pedastal mount seats, the style and make as yet to be determined but selected to fit without modifying the backrest rail which also serves as a rocket launcher. Given that the Main Hatch is in the way and the cabin top is curved, I was thinking of ways I could use the existing bench seat bottom mounting rails and perhaps having some sort of aluminum plate made up to span the two rails which I could then mount a pedastal on. I am concerned how the end result will look. Any suggestions on how to do this economically without major reconstruction?
