Dick-
If you mean putting saddle tanks outboard of the engines and inside of the engine box, I'd look into safety aspects of this, as well as whether there are CG regs. regarding fuel tanks in engine compartments (I think there are).

Mike-
I'd keep the fb tank, and go with what you have until you go diesel. With your main, and aux. tank under the salon floor, you'd have plenty of fuel for diesels.

You could possibly put small saddles in the space under the cockpit deck between the shaft log and rudders. Also, my boat had a 50 gallon or so aux. tank in the space between the engine boxes--the previous owner raised the deck there by about 10".
