Goo Boat

Me & Snow took the new Goo Boat over to the camp today. The 15 hp Honda pushes that wide bottom puppy way faster than it did on the old skinny Goo Boat. Not tippy either, perfect Goo Boat.
Had to modify the sling lift that the B20 Bahia was in for it. Took up about 4' on each sling, just did a fold in the straps and put 3 stainless bolts with big washers in each fold. Covertred from a 6,000# double line pulley system to a single line 3,000# so it goes up twice as fast and much higher. Figure boat, motor and gear only weigh maybe 500#. A hard project since we had to put a 10' stepladder in the boat to get at the pulleys in the overhead, but worked out fine. Now my old body ain't so fine after scampering up and down ladders all day, so a couple of Alleve and clears are putting it back in shape.
Going to fetch AJ from the Seabrook Marine yard in New Orleans Friday morning, so the UV fleet will be whole again. Andre', if you want to go for the ride, we plan to leave my house about 9 a.m. Friday morning. Weather for the dreaded Lake P. crossing is var. 5-10 kts, but we have been told that before.
