Murphy Strikes Again

As I was heading out Friday midday to an overnight fishing venture I lost my port prop. Broke off the 1 1/2" AM 19 shaft with no warning except a small vibration prior to it falling off. Man this is just 13 months old. Not a happy camper. I spent 2 days with two divers looking for the prop in 19 feet of water with visibility of 6 to 9 inches and a strong full moon tide current. Best part of the trip was the version 3 rudders steered me home OK with only the starboard engine. No prop found and a busted shaft to take back where I purchased it . Good thing I know the owners of the machine shop well and they know me and the guy who aligned it a year ago. Man you never know what may happen out there. Could be a lot worse like the boat sinking.
Water temp is 72 degrees here now but very very murkey like pea soup close to shore. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I did despite Friday's fiasco.Even lost an impeller on my only way back home but put a new in and OK. Good thing I wasn't in a hurry to get to someplace important.I still caught two Mackeral despite the difficulity.Cheers folks. Back to the school of hard knox. I can't get out of it.Later gang. Tight lines.... Dave K
