Tommy - assume the issue is the foam waterlogged? Haveing been the temporary Steward of your B20 Sportsman for a short while, and looking at the trailer, doubt the trailer weighs that much, I'd guess maybe 800#, but it was pretty hefty, so could make up the difference.
Now let's talk seriously about tre effects of waterlogged foam in a B20. It is not going to rot anything, just add weight. So if waterlogged, it's not a structual issue. We just had a debate here about ADDING weight to B31's to make them ride better in a head sea. So my question is, why are we so rabid about added weight - via possibly waterlogged foam in a B20? Guess my view is that if the boat runs good, leave it alone. The balsa coared B20 transom is another issue: Patrick says the skins are plenty strong enough to support the 165 hp I/O thrust without replacing the core. I replaced the core in mine just because I like to spend money on old boats.
My point is, since there is no wood in the B20 outside the transom, why worry about the waterlogged foam? Weight is good in a deep v.
