Bill,
Get some #19 leader wire, make two handles out of 1" scrap and start from aft of tank and work forward with a sawing motion. You have to take the rear plywood bulkhead behind tank out. It's a two man job, but thats how I got mine out. You won't believe how much water the old foam holds under the tank. The wire cuts easy thru the foam. When you replace the tank make sure to use 4 lb density pour foam and tar coat epoxey the new tank and exposed foam. If your not going to use the old tank take a look at the shape of the tank, you could use it as a dinghy. Good luck.
