I've got a 32 bf fbc. Been on some 31 berts. The bert is one of the prettiest boats built. They're lighter and come up on plane faster. My fin has 370 hp cummins, but is slower than most 31 berts to come up. At speed they're about the same. Both handle great fighting fish. I love the bert, but love my fin more. I've got lots more room on the bridge and in the cockpit. Also, the fin's much drier. Mine's an older one, so she sits nose down at rest, thus she holds water in the cockpit when drifting or trolling. That's my biggest complaint with the fins. You won't go wrong with either. If you go with a bert, you'll have one of the nicest, most recognizable boats around. but the fin's not a shabby boat either
