If you use an ablative paint, you're OK. If you use a paint like Petit Trinidad (its what I use) the boat has to be splashed within either 30 or 60 days--it'll say right on the can.

Petit has a tel. # that you can call with any questions and when I called the guy was really patient and helpful.
