I have had Garmin stuff for years and have never had any problem with the coatings on any of them. I rarely clean the screens though, so that might be my secret. My 2010 is two years old, but stayed in a pilot house, so no weather exposure. The one on the Buddy Boy has been on the bridge for about 8 months but has had light duty.
