Basic Electronics Package

The all structural work has been completed for our diesel repower and the Yanmar 315s have been laid up in the boat. We are now working on upgrading shafts, running gear, rudders, etc. Its all coming together quite nicely.
I am now considering some electronics for the boat. The prior owner had a combo unit Furuno GPS/FF (GP1610CF) and an older Sitex depth finder. Also had an ICOM VHF (IC-M45) at both upper and lower stations. I don't know exactly where everything was located because it had all been pulled off the boat by the time I bought it.
I'm not a big fan of dual units so I want to upgrade to some kind of basic electronics package the is functional and will work in the limited room for the 31. I was thinking of getting something like a Furuno 600L fish finder and Northstar 952 GPS/Charplotter for the upstairs station. I think I will keep the ICOM.
For the lower station, I was thinking of using the Furuno combo unit if that works. Don't know if you can use a combined transducer with the 600L. This whole thing with the upper and lower stations makes the electronics more complicated. I don't know if you can have some type of moniter below which would display the functionality of the upper units at the lower station. If not, I guess the alternative is buying two of each.
I know radar is a good idea but I think I will hold off for the time being.
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding an electronics setup? Thanks.
