Ernest,

A couple of things. 1) Your fuel guage. Try an air sending unit . I have one, a Gaffrig. Isso makes a little higher priced one. I don't know if it's any better but they are not expensive and will resolve your fuel readout problems.
2) I'm from the school that the more information you have the better off you are. But when your in a tight situation like yourself the least used guage and least relavent guage can be eliminated.I do not use the transmission guages as often as the crucial ones but I do look a them on every run once. So Maybe a multifunction guage with room for another may be a good idea for your situation.

UV thanks for the expose on EGT. Is that the same as a Pyrometer? Dave K
