I've only ever done this 1X on a B25, but I can't imagine that you would ever need to re-do a barrier coat.

If you stick with an ablative bottom paint, you should never ahve to sand / scrape / blast again.

If the boat has multiple layers of old bottom paint (my B25 had 40+ years of paint on her greater than 1/8" thick in some areas) definately make the reapirs, fair out the bottom and go for the Interlux 2000.
