raw water pump changeout

I recently pulled my raw waterpumps for a rebuild of each pump.
after struggling to get the first one out i realized (remembered) you have to remove the motor mount bolt on the bracket that bolts thru the bracket into the block
(on the left side of the bracket so the pump can "clear".. If you loosen the pump and proceed to try and take it out prior to taking out the motor mount bolt you wind up not being able to take out either of them ,,,because then the pump is in the way and you cant get at the motor mount bolt with a socket because of the pump and you cant take off the pump because of the bolt.,.,.,solution .,.,put a socket on the crank turn it gently and put the pump back on/in.,(turning crank with socket easy lines it up).,.,and then take off the bolt and then take off the pump..I put impellar's in both pump's 400 hours ago but forgot all about taking off the motor mount bolt.Hope this helps you yanmar 300 owners,,.,this evolution can be done at sea in an emergency if you have a spare pump with you.,.,.,300 for the pump.,.,.,.I did by a new pump I intend to rebuild the 2 originals.,.,.and keep the new one for a spare,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
