David,
The composite fiberglass windshield replacement from Bill Holmsey is what was used on "Buddy Boy".
The unit is produced in a two part mold & finished on both sides with gelcoat. The coring is Divinycell and the quality is very good.
There are some tricks to installing & making the fit right. Approximate labor time, including removal of the old aluminum unit, prepping the bonding surfaces of the boat, and the basic installation of the fiberglass unit is 20 - 24 man hours.
If you decide to go this way, I can give you more details then... At the time of ordering, be sure to specify the the lower wood inner band be done with fir rather than pine. This will give more bite for the screws at the bottom of the installation.
