There is an article in the new SWS about winter wahoo fishing off the Texas coast. The guy who wrote it doesn't know his ass from you know what. He quotes a "charter captain" out of Galveston who says he has to run to the Flower Gardens for wahoo in winter - 130 miles, one way - but becaue he runs a 36 Contender with triple 300 hp Yamahas, it's no big deal. That much distance in an open boat, hauling ass, in cold weather? There just aren't that many days offshore fishing is doable off our coast in winter!
