A shark attacked a surfer outside Humboldt Bay, Nothern California, on Nov 11 (presumably a Great White). The shark made two passes at the guy (knocked him off his surfboard initially), he fended the shark off with his bare hands - had leg injuries and cuts on his hands from defending himself. Witnesses said the shark's dorsal fin was 3' high.

In the interview I saw last nite he said he is going back surfing as soon as he can.
