My 20' Sportsman (center console) is a 1969 model and has the hull # 204-1099. My friend has a 1970 Moppie and is hull # 201-1391. I have heard that production of the 20 footer wound down in 1969, but hulls layed up in late 1969 could have rolled out the plant door in early 1970, hence my friends 1970 model. I assume yours is also a 1970 model. According to Lee Dana, (long time engineer at Bertram Yacht from their beginning into the earley 80s) your hull # is decoded as follows: 201 means 20' hull, model 1 (Moppie) and the 1395 means the 1294th hull popped out of the mold (since the first hull popped out was numbered as 101). I had asked other B20 owners to post their hull numbers, but most could not find the # or the boat was not accessible for them to check. Sounds like you've got a real nice boat, and one of the last built.
