Duct work for AC/heater

We went with a 12,000 btu ac/heater and were wondering about running the duct work. Interior should be no problem but what about running a outlet or two up to the bridge somewhere? Last thing we want is water to get into the duct and run down the the unit itself but wouldn't it be nice to have heat and ac up on the bridge? Any ideas on how to do this or what type of duct to use.

At the FLL show I noticed a lot of boats had a pretty big 4-5" circular duct right on the dash by the steering wheel. It was positioned like the dash vent in a car.

Any suggestions?

Pics of the progress are up on www.thehulltruth.com in the photos section.
