AJ is in the yard

Me & Andre ran AJ from my camp to Seabrook Marine in New Orleans this morning, a 50 mile trip that includes crossing the dreaded Lake Pohchartrain, 50 miles long and 25 miles wide and about 18' deep. The weather guessers blew it - instead of gentle winds and clear skies we had a gale and heavy rain. 3-4'whitecaps about 3' apart. Took heavy spray over the tower a zillion times, had the seas mostly on the port bow, but they were coming from every which way. 13 kts most of the way then got up to about 16, but it was just plain nasty.

Anyway, the old B31 hull did it's magic, the Cummins never missed a beat, and the Travelift was waiting and plucked us right out. She'll be there a couple of weeks. 3 year old bottom paint looked near new, the advantage of fresh water. My high polish job on the Partick rudders still looks like a mirror.

Nice way to spend a Wed. Me, Andre' & Snow had a big lunch at a famous seafood place by the N.O. airport, and a nap seems in order.
