Just for fun and because I'm bored outta my skull, to reproduce the 40,000 btu bus heater into 12vdc electric power:

11,722.844 watts
976.903666 amps dc

It would take about 25 of the Oddesy PC1200MJT batteries to handle it at a 10 hr rate. But in real life I bet that time will be about 6 hours.

Keeping the wire run to 15' to feed the heater, it would take 2000kcmil copper wire, which is 1.6 inches in diameter with a voltage drop of about .3vdc in those 15'not to mention the parallel connections on the batteries.

You could cut the wire size in half and wrap it around yourself to keep you warm also.

I won't even go into the heating coil dimensions.
