No easy way. You have to remove the headliner to access the bottom nuts of the rail. I used SS (18-8) oversized fender washers on the locknuts or use 5200 on regular nuts. As far as the water is concerned make sure all your horizontal surfaces are sealed with 5200 where hardware goes in. It is all glass on a 31 . I would suspect the same on a 28 , not sure. Get it real dry and seal it with 5200 at hardware ingress . Dave K
