I always mix cayenne peper in my bottom paint, even put it on bewteen coars of the outboard antifouling I use on the props. Evidently, all species of shellfish are afraid of cayenne, don't want to be put into a gumbo, I suspect. We don't have as many vampires down here anymore, so I skip the garlic.
