Boats might be hard to justify to tree huggers. Of course, wood is a renewable resource, so if they planted trees instead of hugging them, there wouldn't be as much of a problem (except for the silent screams of Mr. Teak & Mr. Mahagony as Bubba slices through them with his saw!). On the other hand, fiberglass is pretty much forever. Unwanted boats litter dumps and boatyards, the feds don't want you to burn them, they won't rot, and if you landfill them, you take up precious earth that could be used to grow more trees.
