Joe is the mastermind of this thing. The window kit came as a 1/4" fiberglass skin with a gelcoat finish. Joe put a release wax on the kit, the layed down gelcoat then layed up a few layers of glass and all of a sudden we had a 1/4" skin to fit the inside. Pretty simple stuff after I now have someone explaining it and then seeing the work (still not saying I could do it). Otherwise we are clueless. Jimmy G explained it to us several times but we just couldn't get it. The kit showed up to Joe's one day and two days later he had the inside skin made and the outside was glassed into place. As for the side windows, Joe made a mold and then layed up layers of glass. It's just like how he did the windows on his boat. Since we're redoing the aft bulkhead and door there will be 3 more framless windows.
You ought to see his ideas and see Joe work his magic, it's awesome to see. Next comes the floor for the interior and then the layout of the rest of the interior. I have a feeling this will be all worth it in the end and we should have one awesome boat come summer or whenever it's done.
If we don't make it to AC but we are in come late summer you and Doug will have to come out for another trip and check everything out.
