JK,
The performance differences betwewen the transducers are beam angle.
The higher the performance, the narrower the beam angle.
The narrower the beam angle the more detail it can provide but it scans less area.
I my opinion the narrow beam angle is not the best as a fish finder since it provides less of a scan area which means you have to move the boat more to see more water.
But if you are looking for small changes in the bottom, the narrow beam will show them clearer. The heading sensor is a gyro stabilized fluxgate to provide a steadier reading.
It sends its info out on NEMA 0183. It is an output device which can be hooked to other devices using the NEMA inputs.
Look at the NEMA sentence strings to make sure other devices you might connect will be able to read it.
It also enhances the MARPA feature.I've installed a few of them but never used one in navigation.
