To quote the honorable Uncle Vic...."The enemy of good is better". New props, shafts, couplings, dripless packing is gonna cost you a bundle. I have the same set up in my 1973 and it still works just fine. No matter what, it still won't be a dry-bilge boat. Unless your planning to repower with diesels don't waste yer money. But if you do have money to burn...I am accepting donations for the Southwest Florida Bertram Huricane survivor releif and fossil fuel fund. Just make the check out to cash, I promise we will spend it wisely. I am sure you will make the right decision.
