Survival at the Flophouse

Another year at Babushka's now infamous flophouse has now concluded. I am pleased to report that it was a wonderfully successful rendezvous....no one got hurt, no one got lost, we didn't run out of beer, and yes, Thudd even caught a wahoo which we enjoyed in lieu of a $700 dinner next door. All drinking contest results will forever be sealed in the minds of the participants and all chalk line body outlines have been removed from the floors of most of the establishments where said contests were held.
I arrived Wednesday afternoon with my wife, Nancy and we were immediately welcomed into Ric's hospitality suite, by Ric, UV JKjr, Ahab, Gary(the San Diego connection) and later Andree, Moonie, Garry, Thudd & Kathy, Billy D, Da Judge,and Pete . Patrick and Bruce were most welcomed with the ice and , of course , the libation. Forgive me if I forgot to mention that you were there, since by this time, some of my memory brain cells had become preserved in a clear fluid!
The next day we bravely trooped to the show... a short walk that gets farther every year. By the time we got to the gate, it seemed that we had walked to the keys! Thank goodness that shortly inside the gate Budweiser and Bacardi have provided chairs under a huge tent. For some reason, one could always spot some of those now easily recognizable UVI shirts saving some seats for us weary show-goers.
The show seemed bigger than ever. If you want it for a boat or a luxury home, it's there.
More will come later, but these two fingers need a rest.
