Eddy gave a pretty good idea of performance with Yanmar 170s. I have the 230s and am a bit faster as you would expect. So far as cost, go to the following site for some analysis.

Also go to this site to see what was done to my boat. Also maybe give some thought as to why a guy whose website is cumminsmarine.com talked me into the Yanmars for my B28.

In addition to what Eddy has said, figure on a fair amount of rewiring and many other things that will pop up during the process.
