Time to stop fondling your Corrosion-X and get offshore.
Spent the night aboard "Suzie's Pissed" at West Delta 143 Sunday night with Randy Cootes and Jeff Angelico. We caught blackfin tuna all night. The bite started good and grew better as the moon set and the flying fish came into the lights of the rig. We started with diamond jigs and ended up with top water plugs and rubber flying fish lures (quite a thrill when a tuna busts on a topwater plug 3 and 4 times before hooking up)!
We kept 10 fish and released at least 15 more (stopped counting -- just gave up when we were exhausted). The next morning we went further out to Medusa and hooked up a 41# yellowfin and a bull dolphin. We found a rip line on the way in and picked up 2 more smaller dolphin. Decided to take a quick drift across the Midnight Lump and caught a nice amberjack.
Slick calm seas to boot!
