Mikey,
Here is the sample diagram that Charles sent me. I added the third bank but you can tell by the two bank diagram where the third goes. This is not detailed to show all the breakers and switches, etc.I am guessing that Charles had me wire in their charger below the isolator for the same reason Bruce stated about the voltage drop.
I have about 15 feet of 2/0 black and red wire left over for your mains main and crimpers that are almost 3 feet long ready for your use when you need them. I think 2/0 should be big enough for your diesels depending on the length, but if not, the crimpers have separate dies that will allow you to do any size wire. You could solder them too. I bought direct from S&J for real marine tinned strand wire. I used...
2/0 for all the starting and direct connects to the battery stuff.
4ga for the main runs to the new Blue Seas breaker panel.
6ga from the Alternators to the isolators,
8ga for the bonding system (green).
10 guage for the charger banks and most branch circuits from the breakers.I'm kind of a wiring and safety nut so I overdid everything. Double wall heat shrink with the glue in all connections, etc.
Do it once, do it right, but for god sakes, do it in a Bertram!
