Few things are as important on any boat, 31 included, as bildge pumps[that work].I'm sure many 31's have this feature included in mine. I have a valve in my eng. water intake[between engs.near bottom] that can be opened while closing the sea cock. the 2" sherwood makes those elect pumps look weak at removing water. I have [2] 2ooo gph fore and aft and in the stern is a 3500 which is my wash down and turn 2 handles and it is also a bildge pump. Lose a shaft or rudder and none of it seems enough. The easier the access to hull areas, the faster locating the problem and time can be most important.
