Forward Engine Bulkhead

In the process of a major rebuild, I am currently up to the fore engine bulkhead. I plan to seal of the flow of water from back to front ( glass it off ) to keep bloody tuna water from getting under the cabin and also to reduce moisture in the cabin. Since both sides will be isolated, I plan to add a second bilge pump to each section. Has anyone done this and how did it work out ? I also am considering installing a round deck plate in the lower center of the b-head that can be removed in the event of an emergency, to allow flow to all pumps. Any thoughts...

Thanks in advance, Frank
